Problem with 2006 ford f150?

thinking about buying this truck..........at about 45, 50 miles per hour it kinda stutters a little my mechanic thinks its mass air flow or fuel pressure, dealers mechanic says common problem is spark plugs..........im a plumber not a mechanic so im looking for some input is that really a common problem ???
